Oceanic Atom 3,0 PDC Watch and Transmitter
After the success of the ATOM 2.0 Wristwatch, the Oceanic Atom 3,0 PDC Watch and Transmitter was one of the most highly anticipated pieces of diving equipment of the year. The dive computer – which is worn on the user’s wrist – had a lot to live up to after its predecessor had blown its rivals out of the water.
Fortunately, the ATOM 3,0 was able to impress with its dual algorithm, wireless air integrated technology, and multiple transmitters.

Usability
Most divers’ concerns with the wireless features on the Oceanic Atom 3,0 PDC Watch and Transmitter is that they will lose connection between the transmitter and the watch. However, this dive computer should restore confidence in wireless diving computers as the connection is second to none. The signal is strong enough to allow divers to keep their normal diving position without any adjustments, making this computer very user-friendly.
One negative of the computer is the software used to download the diving information. It is very cumbersome and could do with some refining. However, once the information is downloaded you can export it to Microsoft Excel or your chosen data application.
Features
The Oceanic Atom 3,0 PDC Watch and Transmitter has a great wide range of features, including the ability for divers to easily read how much air time they have left and air pressure. The user-interface has been updated, making the information very easy to read, and includes a history mode which shows the number of dives, maximum depth, number of dive hours, and lowest temperature.
Other features include the dual algorithm which gives divers the freedom to choose their own personal decompression algorithm depending on their own needs without any safety concerns. The dual algorithm can increase dive time at depth, allows divers to dive in sync with friends, and adjust the conservatism or liberalism. The multiple transmitters also mean that users can choose up to three different nitrox mixes or 100% oxygen.
If there is anything that the Oceanic Atom 3,0 PDC Watch and Transmitter could improve on is including a digital compass to the UI. This would allow divers to set their course and ensure that they stay on course for the duration of their dive.
And Finally…
The Oceanic Atom 3,0 PDC Watch and Transmitter is one of the top diving computers currently available on the market. It has made some significant improvements on its predecessor but there are still some obvious omissions such as the lack of a digital compass. However, the many advantages to the computer far outweigh the few complaints. The Atom 3,0 is very easy to operate and read, whilst having enough technical information to keep experienced divers satisfied. The computer is best used for recreational diving, but can cope well with both cold and warm waters, and is even stylish enough to use as a standard watch.

I had the atom 1.0 for over a year and decided to upgrade to the Oceanic Atom 3.0. The 3.0 is easier to navigate. Best of all the software is easy to use and laid out just like any user would want.
I dive almost every week and the Oceanic Atom 3 0 PDC Watch and Transmitter is the perfect computer. It is definitely one of the top diving computer on the market. It is a great improvement over its predecessor, however it still lacks a digital compass. The advantages of this computer far outweigh any minor drawbacks. It is easy to read and provides you with a lot of technical information for your any need. I would recommend it to anyone look for a new dive watch and transmitter.
